INVITATION (traditional and classic boats)

This year we celebrate the 4th edition of the Semaine du Golfe which will take place on 14 – 20 May 2007. As usual, the festival is organised around the Ascension holidays in the heart of the lovely month of May, when the days are longer, night falls a little later, and temperatures a little warmer ....

Bring your families along to take part in this wonderful gathering of traditional and classic boats. On shore and off shore events, regattas, evening and day time entertainment .. a date not to be forgotten !

Once again, we will play the "7 flotillas game" (inviting classic motor boats as well) with the alternation rule (14 ports of call at the 4 corners of the Gulf), the whole thing through a renewed programme of sailing, regattas, nautical and ashore entertainment, and night entertainment.

For your information, there are already people and associations mobilized for the Semaine du Golfe 2007 :

The French Sail & Oar Federation with the Bantry Gigs
the "Challenge Classique Atlantique" organized by the Maritime Museum of La Rochelle
Or the Welsh crews from the SeaFair Haven Festival as well...
So we have good reasons to believe that the "Semaine du Golfe 2007" will be very popular and with particularly good company !

If you are a classic boat owner, don't hesitate to register from now on !

Circuit Chapelles (music in the chapels of Sarzeau)

This year celebrates the 12th edition of the ‘Circuit Chapelles’ organised by the TIC of Sarzeau, an original way of discovering the chapels in the Presqu’ile. Folk music and classical music concerts performed in the chapels of Sarzeau along with poetry, singing, and story telling.

Fireworks on 13th July

Entertainment, dancing, fireworks, concert, fest-noz - festival with traditional Breton folk music and dances.

The Fête de la Mer – a harbour side Celebration of the Sea

Already scheduled : Car boot sale or in French “Vide grenier” – literally “attic emptying” There are entertainments too, including water games, games on shore (bath races etc) ; dancing on the port and a firework display. Don’t miss the .... grilled tuna fish!

Breton folk festival in Rhuys

240 Breton dancers and 90 musicians.

This two-day programme will show how talented Breton dancers can be and will offer a wide range of folk dances and folk music. “Celtic circles” (Breton: Kelc’hioù keltieg”) are Breton folk groups of dancers and musicians wearing traditional clothes that are classified in categories of excellence. Every circle is eager to introduce the public to its specific local traditions and in doing so to display the diversity of Breton dances.
