Enjoy Nature's beauty ! The wonderful variety of wildlife and wild flowers is exceptional here in the Presqu’ile with a number of scarce or unusual species not commonly seen elsewhere.
As seasons and tides change, migratory birds transit on the Peninsula‘s marshes and waters - in Sarzeau notably.
The former salt pans of Duer‘s Marsh are particularly attractive to wintering migrants. From October to March, this ecosystem displays its welcoming expanses to birds like the teal and redshank. These birds of passage add their colour to that of permanent local birds like the white egret.
From April to September beneath the turrets of Suscinio castle the marsh is home to the common tern, blue-throat and black-winged stilt.
David Lédan our local ornithologist and photographer would like the Gulf du Morbihan to be turned into a Parc Naturel Régional - Regional Natural Reserve. In time he may be successful. At times, David is also a guide and he will show you around the coastal marshes of Sarzeau to look at the variety of wildlife.
